Free delivery is available for full packages consisting of the cage, stand, toy pack and 2 hand-tame budgies within the area of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast and Byron and in between. We send you 20 photos of budgies for you to choose from and the whole package is delivered and set up for you.
A visit to us to collect is always preferable of course as you then have multiple choices on budgies, toys, feed and seed etc.
For those who do not require budgies but are just looking for a cage upgrade, delivery is available, please ask for freight cost.

The playgrounds shown below are hand made in Australia in our own workshops using natural timbers cut from the forest. They are all bird safe. The models shown below are just a few examples of the many models that we make and with sale prices starting from just $49, they are incredible value for money and very affordable. Some of our larger models have been called ‘art pieces’ by our customers! Photos do not do these playgrounds justice, come down and take a look for yourself, your budgies will love you for it.

We are situated on over 8 acres of beautiful Mudgeeraba acreage with 4 acres of our own pristine forestry. We realised we have all the natural materials on our own property to make our own hand made budgie playgrounds. We looked at the factory made ones made in China held together with glue which is toxic to birds and thought ‘we can definitely do better than that!’
We have now developed around 50 models ranging in price in the sale from just $49 to $99 for the cage top models and $199 to $299 for the floor mounted models.
For our floor standing models we collect the natural branches that have fallen in storms and check them all for suitability. Most of them are natural gum branches which birds enjoy although we have many trees that birds love in our forests.
The sorting and cleaning process is important as we only want the best for our budgies. Unlike the imported models that you find in pet shops that have been treated with Methyl Bromide fumigation at the Australian borders, our trees are disease free and 100% organic having never been sprayed or treated in their life with harmful or toxic pesticides.
We treat everything we make as if we were making it for ourselves, that is the importance we place on the lives of our budgies.
It takes a lot of sorting of timber to find the perfect shape and size for the components for our playgrounds, we are very fussy as we want to find just the right pieces that look natural as well as artistic, to pass our tests for suitability.
Any waste branches are converted to wood chippings for our landscaping projects which are always ongoing on a property like Whispering Pines.
Our playgrounds are made to sit on top of any flat top cage or table top and we even have a floor mounted model which help those customers who have cages with a shaped top that cannot be used to stand things on.
Budgies just love our playgrounds – let them out in the morning and they will happily sit there for hours preening and canoodling with their partners.
The two small ceramic dishes on some models allow them to have their seed and water out on the playground with them so that they do not have to keep returning to their cage.
The bases are manufactured from food grade bamboo and are easy to clean. Every piece of timber we use is pre-drilled and fixed with a heavy gauge screw and natural seagrass matting is used to form tunnels or caves.
Brass cup hooks are used on the ends of the protruding timbers where ‘toys’ or toy components can be hung. We carry a range of ‘toys’ to amuse your budgies and as many customers have pointed out, our display is like Dreamworld for budgies!
We are continuously sourcing toys that are budgie safe as many of the toys that you find in pet shops are neither safe or suitable. Many are made with rope manufactured from man made fibres which if the budgie ingests, can kill the bird very quickly.
If you have toys made with man made fibres, they should be removed from your cages and to ensure that there is no longer a danger to the budgies. Our range of toys are all checked for glues, colourings (only food colourings are allowed) and we also check to make sure that there are no components small enough to be swallowed by budgies.
We are developing new models all the time and add around 5 new models a week as we just love inventing new way for budgies to have fun. We love our work and we hope it shows, we can develop a model and have it tested by budgies the same day to see the level of interest that they have in the design and the level of activity and interest that they show.
Maybe we just have bird brains but it seems that whatever models we make using the principles we have developed, we get budgies all over the new models in minutes – they just love these things, come and watch for yourself when you visit Just Budgies at Whispering Pines Aviary.
Incidentally, any toys that are hanging on the playgrounds can be swapped for other toys of your preference allowing you to customise your playground to your own personal taste.
