Our customers have called some of our larger models ‘art pieces’ and photos do not do these playgrounds and gyms justice. come down and look for yourself; your budgies will love you for them

For full package free delivery, we will send you 12 photos of budgies for you to choose from and the whole package is delivered on a pre-agreed day and time. Free delivery is available within the areas: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Byron Bay.

A visit to us to collect is always preferable of course as you then have multiple choices on budgies, toys, feed and seed etc.
For those who do not require budgies but are just looking for a cage upgrade, delivery is available at just $20-30 depending on your area.

Bird Playgrounds: How They're Made

We are situated on over 8 acres of beautiful Mudgeeraba acreage with 4 acres of pristine forestry. We realised we have all the natural materials on our property to make our handmade budgie playgrounds. We looked at the factory-made models made in China and held together with glue, which is toxic to birds and thought ‘We can do much better than that!’

We have now developed around 50 models ranging in price in the current sale from just $39 to $99 for the cage top models and $149 to $199 for the floor- mounted models

Materials

For our floor-standing models, we collect the natural branches that have fallen in storms and check them for suitability. Most of them are natural gum branches, which birds enjoy although we have many trees that birds love in our forests

The sorting and cleaning process is important as we only want the best for our budgies. Unlike the imported models in pet shops often treated with Methyl Bromide fumigation at the Australian borders, our trees are disease-free and 100% organic, having never been sprayed or treated with harmful or toxic pesticides

We treat everything we make as if we were making it for ourselves, that is the importance we place on the lives of our budgies

It takes a lot of timber sorting to find the perfect shape and size for the components for our playgrounds; we are very fussy as we want to find just the right pieces that look natural and artistic to pass our tests for suitability

Any waste branches are converted to wood chippings for our landscaping projects, ongoing on properties like Whispering Pines

Placement & Mounting

Our playgrounds are made to sit on top of any flat-top cage or tabletop, and we have floor-mounted models that help customers with cages with a shaped top that cannot stand things on

Budgies love our playgrounds – just let them out of their cage in the morning, and they will happily sit and play for hours preening and canoodling with their partners

Two small ceramic dishes on some models allow your budgies to have their seed and water out on the playground so they do not have to return to their cage so often to eat and drink

The bases are manufactured from food-grade bamboo and are easy to clean. Every piece of timber we use is pre-drilled and fixed with heavy gauge screws and natural seagrass matting is used to form tunnels or caves

Brass cup hooks are used on the ends of the protruding timbers where ‘toys’ can be hung. We carry a range of ‘toys’ to amuse budgies and many customers have pointed out that our playgrounds are like ‘Dreamworld for budgies’ !

Budgie-Safe Toys

We continuously source toys that are budgie safe as many of the toys you find in pet shops are neither safe nor suitable. Many are made with rope manufactured from man-made fibres, which can quickly kill the bird if the fibres are ingested

If you have toys made with man-made fibres, they should be removed from your cages to ensure no danger to the budgies. Our range of toys is all checked for glues and colourings (only food colourings are allowed), and we also check to make sure that there are no components small enough to be swallowed by budgies

New & Custom Models

We are always developing new models and adding around 5-6 models every week as we love inventing new ways for budgies to have fun. We love our work, and we hope it shows. We can develop a model and have it tested by budgies the same day to check their level of interest in the design and their level of activity and interest

Incidentally, any toys hanging on the playgrounds can be swapped for other toys you may prefer, allowing you to customise the playground to your own taste
